Keyboard Symbols

A few of my clients have asked me how I get symbols that I’ve used in their sites.  Here are some basic keyboard symbols that work with most fonts.  Hold down the Alt key and punch in the numbers using the number pad, release the Alt key and your symbol will be inserted.

Copyright (©) is Alt 0, 1, 6, 9

Trademark ( ™ ) is Alt 0, 1, 5, 3

Registered (®) is Alt 0, 1, 7, 4

Euro ( € ) is Alt 0, 1, 2, 8

Cents (¢) is Alt 1,5,5

Pound (£) is Alt  1, 5, 6

Japanese Yen ( ¥ ) is Alt 1, 5, 7

Degree ( º ) is Alt 1, 6, 7

One-half (½) is Alt 1, 7, 1

One-quarter (¼) is Alt  1, 7, 2

French accent (ç) is Alt  1, 3, 5

French accent ( è) is Alt 1, 3, 8

French accent (é) is Alt, 1, 3,0

Double arrow next (»)  is Alt, 1, 7, 5

There are a lot more… play around with combinations and see what you come up with.
